Art Camp
Session III
Odd Year: Art Uncovered
Crayons and paper are usually the tools first given to
children when art is introduced. As they age, different materials, forms and styles of art begin to be presented
and allow them to build their creative imaginations.

In Art Uncovered, we will expose
your children to many non-traditional forms of art and give them the tools to create their own. Photography,
furniture, pottery, mosaics and stained glass will be some of the art forms your children will learn about and
create.

Typically most art lessons focus on the artist, however, this camp will focus on
the historical facts behind the art and how it added improvements to everyday life. Through art, children can
explore many aspects of the world around them which will include gaining knowledge about different countries and
cultures.

Art camp will finish off with an art show that will showcase every child’s
finished masterpieces created throughout the Art
Uncovered camp.
Even
Year: Art Expressions
Monday, July 26th
through Friday August 6th
Throughout Art Expressions your child will not only be exposed to paint and paint brushes, but will
be given an opportunity to understand the history of art as we focus on four selected artists and their unique
styles.
Over two weeks, your child will learn
about the painting styles of Vincent Van Gogh, sculpting techniques of Alexander Calder, use of photography by Andy
Warhol, and Elizabeth Barton’s expression through quilting. They will then be given the chance to recreate their
artistic style the way they see it through their eyes.
Art
Expressions will conclude with a reception for all parents to join their child on a self-guided tour
through TECC’s Art Gallery so they may share the knowledge and creativity they have gained throughout their camp
experience.
