Year: Moving through the Decades
Moving through the
Decades will send your child traveling through time to experience four different
decades in American History. They will be learning about the popular music and dances from the 1920’s,
1950’s, 1960’s, and 1980’s.From ragtime and swing to rock
and roll and new wave, your child will be moving and groovin' to the hits of the past.
In the daily movement class, your child will learn signature
moves from each decade while incorporating exercise, gross motor development, music appreciation and
fun!
In the classroom, your child will be engaging in daily
activities and experiences that focus on some of the pop culture trends of the four decades. From the refrigerator
becoming a more common household appliance to the introduction of Mr. Potato Head and Tye Dye to Fraggle Rock. Your
child will learn how all of these inventions impacted life and education in the 20th Century.
Moving through the
Decades will wrap up with a culminating performance where all the children will have the
opportunity to perform the movements they have learned from each decade for their friends and family to see
followed by an all school picnic.
Even Year: The World One Beat At A Time
Monday, July 12th
through Friday, July 23th
The World One Beat At A Time will send your child
on a journey across the globe to South America, India, The British Isles, and Africa to experience the cultures and
dances that help to make them each unique.

In the daily movement class, your child will
learn signature moves from several countries while incorporating exercise, gross motor development, music
appreciation and fun! In the classroom, your child will be learning about these countries, their geographical
locations, and some of the things that are indicative of their cultures. Each day your child will be participating
in activities about these cultures and enjoying literature to reinforce and review the concepts they are
learning.

The World One Beat At A Time will wrap up with a culminating
performance where all the children will have the opportunity to perform the movements they have learned from
each country for their friends and family to see followed by a multicultural
picnic.
