the children to move and express themselves through playing instruments, dance, song, plays &
performances.

Design and Basic School Year Curriculum
Opening Exercises:
Vocal Warm Up - breathe, stretch, try
different sounds: cars, trains, and animals using high/low voice
range
Hello Song - sing everyone’s name
and wave hello
Focus Activity – sing / finger play or chant to get
everybody’s attention
First Instrument Play - sing a song
while using simple rhythm instrument: (egg shakers/maracas/sticks/jingle bells)
Large Movement Activity -
transition from“sit” to “stand”,
moving all over the classroom:
Props can be used (such as scarves, balls, parachute)

Development:
Re-Focus: Sing a familiar
song
Working On School Year Curriculum:
Late September through October - Halloween songs
November – Thanksgiving songs
December – Prepare for Christmas Program
January through early April- Preparation for School Plays
- Pre-Kindergarten will perform “Peter Rabbit”
- Three-Year-Olds will perform “The Three Bears”
April through May – Prepare for Spring
Sing-A-Long

Finale:
Play Along: Children choose any 2
music instruments to play along with the music. They use simple rhythm instruments or “kitchen
instruments”
