PRE-KINDERGARTEN

The pre-kindergarten program is designed nurture each child's independence and to prepare them with the appropriate skills to promote their success as they matriculate to kindergarten.

 Our pre-kindergarten classrooms incorporate the standards and requirements of the Maryland State Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum, which focuses on the development in the following areas: mathematical concepts (patterns, one-to-one number correspondance, odd and even numbers, more and less, shapes, introductory addition, etc), language development (phonemic awareness skills, sound discrimination, rhyming sounds, basic site words, handwriting, etc.) scientific thinking (problem solving, step-by-step directions, reasoning skills) social studies and social and emotional development.

Through fun activities, hands-on exploration and social interactions; we foster development of the whole child.
